A software error can cause the rearview camera image to remain displayed after the vehicle has been shifted out of reverse.
The windshield wiper arm or arms may loosen, possibly causing the wipers to not operate properly and reduce the driver's visibility in certain weather conditions.
The instrument cluster may not properly illuminate driver warnings. As such, these vehicles fails to conform with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, "Control and Displays."
Due to an incorrect assembly repair process, the auxiliary battery wire terminal connection may overheat.
Vehicles with this combination do not have a functioning windshield defrosting and defogging system.

I feel like that could potentially be dangerous, and from a little research I have found that there are some recalls for this problem, but my truck isnt listed when I check the NHTSA. database.”

“The backup camera sometimes doesnt show the lines. also the camera sometimes glitches while backing up. And the infotainment system sometimes wont let the music out of the speakers even turning off and on the stereo/truck.”

“Rear view camera first began blanking out in the morning, when the temperature was below 64 degrees F. About 6 months later, the camera began blanking out completely (regardless of temperature). The camera image is supposed to appear on the left side of the rear view mirror. Now, instead of the picture, there is an image of a camera icon with a slash through it (indicating lack of input from a camera).”

“The rear backup camera either shows a blue screen when the vehicle is put into reverse, or a black screen with the lines for backup guidance. Other times the camera works as intended.”
