ABS light on on other 1500 years

Report counts are for each model year on its own, so a newer car has had less time to collect them. Model years with too few reports of it for a sheet: 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026.

What this problem usually is

This is the narrower sheet inside brake problems for the anti-lock brake (ABS) warning light. What separates it from the wider brake sheet is that most owners here aren't describing worn pads or grinding. They're describing a light, and often a list of features that quit along with it.

Is this a known problem?

The manufacturer has sent NHTSA 1 service bulletin or notice for the 2015 Ram 1500 that deal with this problem. Newest first.

Federal rules make a manufacturer send NHTSA a copy of any notice about a defect that goes to more than one dealer or owner. Most of these are service bulletins, the repair instructions manufacturers send to dealers. NHTSA generally leaves safety recall bulletins out of this file, and recalls are listed separately.

What owners wrote

“ABS control module “A” has failed internally. Vehicle went into limp mode and is inoperable due to this issue. I’ve eliminated other possibilities as to the cause and have narrowed it down to the ABS control module. ABS light, traction control, brake, electronic throttle control, and service shifter lights are all activated and activated at the time that the issue began.”

Filed Sep 18, 2026

“ABS module failure. Warning lights on dash- ABS lamp (code C2200), traction control lamp, service trailer brake system message, and red brake fault lamp illuminated. Does not go away after vehicle running. Reduced braking feel present. Will not pass state inspection for legal road use due to red brake lamp on status, no abs module replacements from dealer- national backorder with unknown shipping date currently.”

Filed Aug 18, 2026

“ABS module malfunction from known corrosion that all these vehicles have. Then they don’t make the part anymore.”

Filed Aug 15, 2026

“While driving my ABS light brake light and throttle light came on when I took in for a diagnostic said ABS module is bad called dealer can’t get anymore. It’s not safe to drive now I’m out of vehicle.”

Should you keep driving it?

This page can't tell you that. 4 of 128 reports involved a crash and 2 people were hurt. Owners who file are the ones who had a bad experience, and nobody checks their reports. If the problem affects steering, braking, power or a fire risk, treat it as a safety fault and have it inspected before a long or high-speed drive.

File your own report with NHTSA. Complaint counts are how a problem gets an investigation. How reports land on this sheet.
