What this problem usually is
Screen complaints read like a list of small betrayals. The display goes black or freezes, the backup camera shows nothing when you shift into reverse, CarPlay or Android Auto keeps dropping, or the radio changes volume on its own. The wiring harness for the rearview camera and the center brake light may short circuit, which can disable the rearview camera image and center brake light.
The instrument panel cluster may experience an internal short circuit and fail. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101, "Controls and Displays."
The powertrain control module may be equipped with a voltage regulator chip in the circuit board that may fail, causing a stall or a no start condition.
These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging.

“Every dash warning lights come on, radio cuts off, steering loss occurs, have to fight steering to get pulled over, turn it off and back on, sometimes resets but not always. Issue happens at random but the last time it occurred around a curve, nearly went off the road because of the steering loss. Had all the wires and grounds cleaned & checked, all batteries are good, alternator is good, all relays are good.”

“Cannot put car in drive from park position. âService Shifterâ light s up along with Abs, start/stop, All lights on dash light up while driving or in park, no power steering, all displays flickering, can not move vehicle. While in park, can not engage shifter,”

“As I was driving, all my warning lights started going off. The dash said everything was unavailable (disconnect sway bar, traction control, shifter, etc). Power steering went out and the car was put into auto park while moving and the shifter wouldnât work. Windows wouldnât work, radio volume started changing, etc.”
