What owners wrote

“I took it in for the Maine state inspection and it won't pass because the rotors have delaminated, the caliper is starting to shift up, and the brake hoses are going bad already. The service tech says this is a known issue with these vehicles. Unacceptable for a vehicle with 42k miles.”

Filed Aug 18, 2026 · 42,000 miles

“Every dash warning lights come on, radio cuts off, steering loss occurs, have to fight steering to get pulled over, turn it off and back on, sometimes resets but not always. Issue happens at random but the last time it occurred around a curve, nearly went off the road because of the steering loss. Had all the wires and grounds cleaned & checked, all batteries are good, alternator is good, all relays are good.”

“My Jeep only has 85,266 miles on it and my pistons/ calibers are locked up, resulting in my cailbers, rotors, and brake pads to all be replaced. This job is projected to cost me over $1,000. My car is currently undriveable.”

“The power steering with no warning, just quits, working, get warning signs that the ABS is not working, included with the traction control.”

Should you keep driving it?

This page can't tell you that. 6 of 67 reports involved a crash and 3 people were hurt. Owners who file are the ones who had a bad experience, and nobody checks their reports. If the problem affects steering, braking, power or a fire risk, treat it as a safety fault and have it inspected before a long or high-speed drive.

File your own report with NHTSA. Complaint counts are how a problem gets an investigation.
