What this problem usually is
Screen complaints read like a list of small betrayals. The display goes black or freezes, the backup camera shows nothing when you shift into reverse, CarPlay or Android Auto keeps dropping, or the radio changes volume on its own. The wiring harness for the rearview camera and the center brake light may short circuit, which can disable the rearview camera image and center brake light.
The instrument panel cluster may experience an internal short circuit and fail. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101, "Controls and Displays."
A software error can cause the rearview camera image to remain displayed after the vehicle has been shifted out of reverse.

“The IPC Cluster stopped working and the screen is completely blank. It is unsafe to drive since I donât know how fast Iâm going, how much gas is in the tank, and inability to see any warning lights. The recall for this is Recall Campaign 30B/NHTSA 24-V 652 for jeeps with the 3.5 inch cluster layout, which I have but my VIN is not listed on the recall list. It should be!”

“This Jeep has the exact issues addressed in recall 24V-652 but this Jeeps V.I.N was not included. We have no dash display. Dealership said we needed to request that it be added before they will repair.”

“My IPC keeps flashing and going blank or black screen. Iâm unable to see the information about my vehicle including fuel levels. I have not taken my car to a dealer yet since I am waiting for the new part but I saw that there was a for notifying that jeep wranglers from 2018-2020 had this specific issue yet my vin has no recalls.”
