What this problem usually is

Water may enter into the rearview camera, which can cause the rearview camera image to fail to display when the vehicle is in reverse.
Due to a faulty Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST) communication coaxial cable connector, the rearview camera image may not appear on the display.
Incorrect instrument panel control module software can cause the instrument panel to not display critical information, such as engine oil pressure, speedometer, and gear selector position until the next ignition cycle.
The wire harness for the third row seat accessory power outlet may get pinched between the unibody and rear trim panel, possibly damaging the wires and causing an electrical short.

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (AHM) is searching for certain 2018-2021 Odysseys with a customer complaint of the fuel door not opening, not closing or the gauge cluster displaying error for fuel lid open when it is actually closed.
Owner Notification Letter - On some 2018-20 Odyssey models, a loose connection in the MOST bus network is causing a popping or crackling from the speakers or no sound from the audio system. There may also be a Network Loss message and/or display issues.

“While the van was in motion, the power tailgate unlocked and opened on its own. The dashboard displayed tailgate open warning message. I slowed down and the lock re-engaged to to close the tailgate. It happened again later that evening. Fortunately, I was within city limits, driving about 40 mph.”

“Honda has a recall notice to repair the rear camera. We took the car in to get the recall service. The camera stopped working. Honda told us the diagnostic to determine what wasn't working on the camera would cost hundreds of dollars. This was recall service that disabled the camera. We should not be charged and they have messed up our car system.”

“The rear view camera on this car is defective. Honda and the dealership appear to be playing games with customers stating that they will get this dealt with but no ETA has been forthcoming the whole of 2022.”
