What this problem usually is
Screen complaints read like a list of small betrayals. The display goes black or freezes, the backup camera shows nothing when you shift into reverse, CarPlay or Android Auto keeps dropping, or the radio changes volume on its own. Water may enter into the rearview camera, which can cause the rearview camera image to fail to display when the vehicle is in reverse.
Due to a faulty Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST) communication coaxial cable connector, the rearview camera image may not appear on the display.
The heating pads behind both side-view mirrors may not be bonded properly, allowing the mirror glass to detach.
Water may get into the rearview camera mounting holes and enter the camera lens and cause a distorted image, or no image at all.
Incorrect central network software programming may cause several errors to occur that can delay or prevent the rearview camera image from displaying.
Incorrect instrument panel control module software can cause the instrument panel to not display critical information, such as engine oil pressure, speedometer, and gear selector position until the next ignition cycle.
The wire harness for the third row seat accessory power outlet may get pinched between the unibody and rear trim panel, possibly damaging the wires and causing an electrical short.

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (AHM) is searching for certain 2018-2021 Odysseys with a customer complaint of the fuel door not opening, not closing or the gauge cluster displaying error for fuel lid open when it is actually closed.
Owner Notification Letter - On some 2018-20 Odyssey models, a loose connection in the MOST bus network is causing a popping or crackling from the speakers or no sound from the audio system. There may also be a Network Loss message and/or display issues.

“We have 2020 Honda Odyssey with 4500 miles and multi purpose camera quit working and Honda service center ran a scan and confirmed malfunction of camera and replacement costed over $1600. Internet tells me that many other similar vehicle have similar issue. It should be a recall and fixed free.”

“The multicamera display unit is defective. It operates several systems and cause multiple warning issues. I believe the design is flawed. In addition to the warnings, both the display for driving information ( speed, rpm, temp, etc.) go blank and the AV unit (radio, entertainment, etc) shuts off too.”
