What this problem usually is
Screen complaints read like a list of small betrayals. The display goes black or freezes, the backup camera shows nothing when you shift into reverse, CarPlay or Android Auto keeps dropping, or the radio changes volume on its own. Water may enter into the rearview camera, which can cause the rearview camera image to fail to display when the vehicle is in reverse.
Due to a faulty Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST) communication coaxial cable connector, the rearview camera image may not appear on the display.
Incorrect instrument panel control module software can cause the instrument panel to not display critical information, such as engine oil pressure, speedometer, and gear selector position until the next ignition cycle.
Incorrect central network software programming may cause several errors to occur that can delay or prevent the rearview camera image from displaying.
Water may get into the rearview camera mounting holes and enter the camera lens and cause a distorted image, or no image at all.
The wire harness for the third row seat accessory power outlet may get pinched between the unibody and rear trim panel, possibly damaging the wires and causing an electrical short.

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (AHM) is searching for certain 2018-2021 Odysseys with a customer complaint of the fuel door not opening, not closing or the gauge cluster displaying error for fuel lid open when it is actually closed.
Owner Notification Letter - On some 2018-20 Odyssey models, a loose connection in the MOST bus network is causing a popping or crackling from the speakers or no sound from the audio system. There may also be a Network Loss message and/or display issues.

“The camera system intermittently was cutting out. After researching it is apparently a known issue. I took it to my mechanic and what is "common" is a loose wire. This is not the case with my vehicle. It is a broken wire connection. Therefore neither my camera display or hands-free communication system work, they have no power.”

“My vehicle would say mitigation control system failure, and would flutter by turning off and back on and making the vehicle in operable for a few seconds while in motion. Also, would have a transmission gauge issue and would make the car inoperable, and wouldnât move at all, would only turn on and would function like the radio, lights, etc.”

“All safety systems which I had come to rely on failed all at once. Honda claims itâs the multi function camera that just randomly went bad. This affects safe driving. Condition Is ongoing”
