Recalls and investigations
One recall on the steering system covers the 2024 model year. A recall on the same system isn't always the same failure, so read the defect text.
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Acura Integra, Civic Type R, CR-V Hybrid, CR-V, HR-V, 2022-2025 Civic, Civic Hatchback, 2024-2025 Acura Integra Type S, 2025 CR-V Fuel Cell EV, Civic Hybrid, and Civic Hatchback Hybrid vehicles. The steering gearbox assembly may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can cause excessive internal friction and lead to difficulty steering the vehicle.

What owners wrote
“At about 6,000 miles I noticed that at higher speed over 40 mph, the steering felt as if it were 'sticky'. Steering felt like it would click and it is hard to keep wheel straight. It is progressively getting worse and makes it so I cannot drive straight without overcorrecting on either side constantly.”

“Sticky steering developed after 3500 miles. When making minor adjustments, extra resistance was felt causing over adjustment sometimes.”

Should you keep driving it?
This page can't tell you that. 0 of 46 reports involved a crash. Owners who file are the ones who had a bad experience, and nobody checks their reports. If the problem affects steering, braking, power or a fire risk, treat it as a safety fault and have it inspected before a long or high-speed drive.
