Stalling on other F-150 years
Report counts are for each model year on its own, so a newer car has had less time to collect them. Model years with too few reports of it for a sheet: 2024, 2025, 2026.
What this problem usually is
Stalling reports are some of the most alarming on the site. The engine quits while the car is moving, sometimes on a highway and sometimes at a stop. Many owners say it restarted right away and the dealer found no stored code, which is part of why these complaints pile up before anything gets fixed.
What got replaced
Owners who name the part that was replaced mention the fuel pump (8 reports) and the battery (4 reports).
Recalls and investigations
10 recalls on the electrical system cover the 2022 model year. A recall on the same system isn't always the same failure, so read the defect text.
When towing a trailer, the integrated trailer module (ITRM) may lose communication with the vehicle, possibly causing a loss of brake and turn signal lights, or a loss of brake function.
The low-pressure fuel pump may fail, which can result in an engine stall while driving.
Due to a software error, a towed trailer equipped with an electric or electric-over hydraulic brake system may not brake.
The engine intake valves may break while driving, which can result in engine failure and a loss of drive power.
The rear axle hub bolt may fatigue and break, which can result in damage to the axle hub splines.
Contact with the rear axle housing may damage the wiring harness, causing the electric parking brake to activate unexpectedly.
The transmission may contain a loose bolt which could prevent the transmission from engaging the park gear, although the gear shifter position may indicate that the vehicle has been shifted to "PARK."
Underbody heat and noise insulators may loosen and contact the aluminum driveshaft, which could damage the driveshaft and cause it to fracture.

What owners wrote
“Failure by Ford to fix a fuel pump issue that has been known since Feb 2025. Should a vehicle stall while being operated due to this issue it could lead to a crash. I would think such a serious safety issue would be addressed and fixed to prevent unnecessary accidents/injuries/death.”

“Random loss of power when driving vehicle. As occurred when towing and not. Generally occurs when on an incline. Contacted dealer about the condition. I was told there is a recall but not a remedy. It has been a full year now, without a remedy.”

“10r80 transmission slipped between 3rd and 4th gear shift. Truck is available for inspection. The few seconds loss of power is definitely a safety risk. It happened while pulling out onto a highway from a full stop. There are numerous reports of this issue with this transmission. Plan to have transmission inspected by a mechanic ASAP. No warnings of the issue prior to this happening.”

“9/17 driving home. Light rain. Put the truck in slippery mode prior to starting my drive. Truck was actually slipping and seemed to be shutting off and on. Prior to me being able to pull off to the side of the road, the truck stalled and spinned out across five lanes slamming into the barrier.”

Should you keep driving it?
This page can't tell you that. 1 of 45 reports involved a crash and 2 people were hurt. Owners who file are the ones who had a bad experience, and nobody checks their reports. If the problem affects steering, braking, power or a fire risk, treat it as a safety fault and have it inspected before a long or high-speed drive.
