The power transfer unit (PTU) may become damaged and disengage the transmission and differential, resulting in a loss of drive power and/or loss of park function.
The instrument cluster may fail resulting in a lack of activation of warning chimes, messages, and gauges.
Improper transmission calibration may result in a stall.
The powertrain control module may be equipped with a voltage regulator chip in the circuit board that may fail, causing a stall or a no start condition.
A component in the transmission may not have been welded properly, possibly causing the transmission to not transmit engine power to the wheels.

To get it repaired is $3,000. Seems like Jeep was installing bad transmissions. They should recall these and cover the coast for repair.”

“PTU Control Motor is failing and triggering SVC 4WD. In the middle of winter having loss of power is terrifying. Has been looked at by mechanic, diagnostic ran and code C14A7-97 has been present. I purchased in 2022, 85k miles and regular maintenance.”

“The engine shut down on the highway going 70 mph. There were no warning signs or lights. The dealership confirmed that it was a defect in the engine. The car only has 59000 miles.on it and 6 weeks out of warranty. We put a claim into Chrysler and they approved, it's been 3 months since this happened. I am currently still waiting to get my car back. As of this week, the dealership is currently replacing the engine.”
