What this problem usually is
Screen complaints read like a list of small betrayals. The display goes black or freezes, the backup camera shows nothing when you shift into reverse, CarPlay or Android Auto keeps dropping, or the radio changes volume on its own. There have been many times it has been open and we were not aware until we go to the back of the truck or put the truck in reverse and notice it on the backup camera. We first noticed it happen around Christmas of 2023, and it has been happening randomly since then.”

“While driving, on its own, the radio volume surged to 100%. All radio controls were unresponsive, and the volume was maxed-out.. Volume bar on the console display was reading 100%. Was unable to turn the radio down or off. Issue did not resolve until I drove home and turned the vehicle off.”

“While driving the vehicle, the radio will suddenly and instantly jump to full volume frightening the driver and passengers and making it hard to focus on the road and control the vehicle. The dealership and GM will not fix the issue as it happens intermittently.”

“The vehicle is brand new with only 300 miles on the clock. Today while driving to work and listening to XM-radio the volume spiked to max and would not respond to controls to lower volume or turn off. I was able to lower by switching to a different output. It was very detracting and potentially dangerous since the Bose speakers are very loud.”
