Jerking or hard shifts on other F-150 years
Report counts are for each model year on its own, so a newer car has had less time to collect them. Model years with too few reports of it for a sheet: 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026.
What this problem usually is
This is the narrower sheet inside transmission shudder for shifts that jerk, lurch or bang. Where the wider sheet also takes in slipping and vibration, these reports are about a shift that arrives too hard: the car lunges forward, or a clunk comes through the floor as it drops into gear.
What got replaced
Owners who name the part that was replaced mention the transmission (13 reports), the valve body (7 reports) and the mounts (6 reports).

What owners wrote
“2019 Ford F-150 4wd super crew 10 speed automatic with 51,330 miles. The transmission upon acceleration will slip, slow to shift, disengage, then slam into gear. I was afraid that the transmission would lock-up disengage causing an accident. There was a warning icon of a wrenchon dash display. I took to Ford dealer where they confirmed a Cylinder Bushing had slipped. They recommended to replace the transmission.”

“Harsh/erratic shifting, clunking, hesitation between gears, and sudden loss of power. Was unaware there was a known defect with these transmissions and almost rear ended vehicles in multiple occasions due to the vehicles acceleration hesitation and then bolting forward. Dealership now states the transmission needs to be replaced at just over 70,000 miles”

Should you keep driving it?
This page can't tell you that. 0 of 213 reports involved a crash and 2 people were hurt. Owners who file are the ones who had a bad experience, and nobody checks their reports. If the problem affects steering, braking, power or a fire risk, treat it as a safety fault and have it inspected before a long or high-speed drive.
File your own report with NHTSA. Complaint counts are how a problem gets an investigation. How reports land on this sheet.
