Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2013-2019 Escape, 2013-2018 C-Max, 2013-2016 Fusion, 2013-2021 Transit Connect, and 2015-2018 Edge vehicles. The bushing that attaches the shifter cable to the transmission may degrade or detach.
Risk and remedy
Remedy: Dealers will replace the under hood shift bushing and add a protective cap over the shift cable bushing, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters, informing owners of the safety risk, were mailed July 1, 2022. Remedy parts are expected to be available in 4th Quarter 2022. Owner notification letters were mailed October 27, 2022. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S43.
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Ford Edge and 2017 Lincoln MKZ vehicles. On vehicles with 2.0L gas engines and six-speed automatic transmissions, the torque converter weld studs may have been inadequately welded.
Risk and remedy
Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the torque converters, free of charge. The recall began on July 5, 2018. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 17S16 (S2). Note: This recall is an expansion of recall 17V-427.

“engine light came on. took to ford dealer , They stated that antifreeze was leaking in to cylinder. and that I needed a new engine. and that I should not be driving it because it could stall out or could catch fire. Ford has other ford engines doing the same problems . because of a seal . that they {ford} have been aware of. Codes from dealers code readers are reading number 4 cylinder messed up.”

“Service order: dated 08/07/23 Engine light on and and off several times Check codes: found p301 and p316 as well as coolant intrusion in cylinder #1 lost psi of pressure on the coolant system in 10 minutes. Needs long block Conclusion by tech: needs a new engine costing over $9000. The cost for computer test $240.00 This was after spending $661.97 for a fuel vapour Sep installed. Donât know if needed or not.”

“Fluid intrusion into the Ford 2017 Edge engine when coolant leaks into the cylinders, it can leads to corrosion, misfires, engine failure, and fires. I just had a fluid intrusion into my engine and the dealership told me it was safe to drive. I was have near stalling of my car and my check engine light was on. My Edge has now been at the dealership for almost 4 weeks waiting for an engine replacement.”
