“I was driving on the highway and there was a sudden drop in power and hesitation in the engine. I slowed down too quickly on a busy highway and almost got rear ended. I took it to the shop and found out I had to replace the engine due to the cam and lifters were bad. It cost $12,000 to replace a four year engine with 148,000 miles. The time before that this happened, I had to replace the engine wiring harness”

“My truck has the 6.2l engine, prior to me buying it in September 2025 with 27,000 miles it had its engine replaced due to the recall/engine failure, then after 6,000 miles on 12-30-25 the 2nd engine it has had failed and had to be replaced. This truck that only has 34,000 miles is now on its 3rd motor and leaves me worried to really travel with it due to wondering if I am going to be stranded again.”

“On October 6th I took my truck in for the 6.2L recall and it failed. GM replaced the engine as. On Jan 15th 10 days after my first oil change just before 5000 miles the engine began to knock. After being towed 100 miles to the original dealer the replacement engine has blown and now I am waiting for another replacement.”

“Engine seized at 89,872 miles. Spun rod bearings, Spent a Month and a half waiting for a new motor. Motor was replaced and engine seized again at 10,000 miles. I had extended warranty that at first denied the claim but wound up paying. When the Motor seized a second time I traded the vehicle in. But at a significant cost to me as I would have kept that vehicle if it hadn't of had the Motor issues.”
