“During yearly inspection the mechanic noted excessive rust on frame components and warned that something should be doneâ¦. I am on my third Silverado and frame coating, brake lines and transmission coolant lines have had issues with excessive rust. I bought this new in 2014 and hoped they had addressed these issues⦠over the previous Silverados I have owned. What recourse do I have towards GM. The truck has 50k.”

Should you keep driving it?
This page can't tell you that. 1 of 40 reports involved a crash. Owners who file are the ones who had a bad experience, and nobody checks their reports. If the problem affects steering, braking, power or a fire risk, treat it as a safety fault and have it inspected before a long or high-speed drive.
File your own report with NHTSA. Complaint counts are how a problem gets an investigation.
