The crankshaft position sensor tone wheel may delaminate, causing the engine to lose its ability to synchronize the fuel injector pulses and cam shaft timing, possibly resulting in an engine stall.
The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler may crack and allow pre-heated vaporized coolant to enter the EGR system. This mixture may combust inside the intake manifold.

Water Quality When Mixed With Engine Coolant
Issue involves overheating, running hot, coolant leaks and related symptoms after a Mopar replacement engine has been installed in the vehicle.
Water Pump Dealers are replacing water pumps because of a coolant leak. Water pumps are found TNF but the water pump bypass o-ring was pinched resulting in a coolant leak that looks like a failed pump.

“The engine overheated due a coolant leak causing head gasket failure. The engine will now most likely need to be replaced. The engine is 3.0 ecodeiesel which was part of the FCA settlement . There were no warning signs. Engine overheated with dealership while getting the fuel tank pump replaced. Dealer confirmed issue.”
