Fuel pump on other Grand Cherokee years
Report counts are for each model year on its own, so a newer car has had less time to collect them. Model years with too few reports of it for a sheet: 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026.
What this problem usually is
A lot of fuel pump complaints are tied to a recall. Owners describe a car that stalled or wouldn't start, sometimes at highway speed, and many mention that a recall covers it and the part isn't available yet. Others paid for the pump themselves before a recall existed, or on a car the recall didn't include.
What got replaced
Owners who name the part that was replaced mention the fuel pump (26 reports), the high-pressure pump (7 reports) and the fuel pump relay (3 reports).
Recalls and investigations
6 recalls on the fuel and propulsion cover the 2015 model year. A recall on the same system isn't always the same failure, so read the defect text.
The crankshaft position sensor tone wheel may delaminate, causing the engine to lose its ability to synchronize the fuel injector pulses and cam shaft timing, possibly resulting in an engine stall.
A high pressure fuel pump (HPFP) failure may introduce internal debris into the fuel system, potentially resulting in fuel starvation.
The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler may crack and allow pre-heated vaporized coolant to enter the EGR system. This mixture may combust inside the intake manifold.
The crankshaft position sensor tone wheel may delaminate causing the engine to lose its ability to synchronize the fuel injector pulses and cam shaft timing, possibly resulting in an engine stall.
The supercharger mounting bracket may contact and damage the ABS line, possibly resulting in a brake fluid leak.
The affected vehicles, equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission and a monostable gear selector, may not adequately warn the driver when driver's door is opened and the vehicle is not in PARK, allowing them to exit the vehicle while the vehicle is still in gear.

Is this a known problem?
The manufacturer has sent NHTSA 1 service bulletin or notice for the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee that deal with this problem. Newest first.
Federal rules make a manufacturer send NHTSA a copy of any notice about a defect that goes to more than one dealer or owner. Most of these are service bulletins, the repair instructions manufacturers send to dealers. NHTSA generally leaves safety recall bulletins out of this file, and recalls are listed separately.
FUEL PUMP/LEVEL UNIT MODULE For vehicles with Saddle Fuel Tanks, need to determine if there are any DTCs in wiTECH. Follow Service Diagnostics published prior to making any changes. Review any existing SOL or TSBs published for customer complaint issue.
What owners wrote
“Vehicle has the exact same problem with the fuel pump relay that the 2014s has. The 2014s are repaired via NHTSA yet the 2015s are not. The issue is EXACTLY the same. Why does the NHTSA care about the safety of 2014 owners/passengers but not 2015 owners/passengers?”

“When are you going to make Jeep fix this fuel pump issue? It has been over 9 months and they stilll say they don't have the parts! People are going to die. HELP!”

Should you keep driving it?
This page can't tell you that. 0 of 26 reports involved a crash. Owners who file are the ones who had a bad experience, and nobody checks their reports. If the problem affects steering, braking, power or a fire risk, treat it as a safety fault and have it inspected before a long or high-speed drive.
File your own report with NHTSA. Complaint counts are how a problem gets an investigation. How reports land on this sheet.
