“"BRAKE" flashed on instrument panel and cars brakes were automatically applied for a second or so. This recently happened and once before about one year ago. Both incidents occurred in daylight on a clear, level paved road with no cars ahead in the lane at 35MPH (estimated). Cruise control was OFF. These isolated incidents have not been previously reported and no injuries occured.”

“Three times the car braked automatically although there was no reason; traffic was consistent and there was no stop sign or stopped/slowing traffic. Several times (more than two/ less than six) the car auto corrected with lane assistance due to either shadows from telephone wires onto the road, or, pavement variations due to construction (on the interstate).”

Should you keep driving it?
This page can't tell you that. 1 of 41 reports involved a crash and 2 people were hurt. Owners who file are the ones who had a bad experience, and nobody checks their reports. If the problem affects steering, braking, power or a fire risk, treat it as a safety fault and have it inspected before a long or high-speed drive.
File your own report with NHTSA. Complaint counts are how a problem gets an investigation.
