What owners wrote

“My backup camera glitches and my APMI module has gone out, which was diagnosed by Ford. I’ve seen this is an issue with other Ford models as well, however there are no active recalls for my VIN. The Airbag light is also on.”

“The image in my reverse camera on my dashboard is upside down when I put the gearshift in reverse. Impossible to see if anything is behind me. I have not had it looked at yet by a dealership. Just began happening a few days ago. No warning lights at all came on. There are examples of this happening to other cars on YouTube. Seems like a common but dangerous problem with certain Fords.”

Filed Feb 16, 2024

“The rearview backup camera is glitching and at times shows blank screen. Not being able to reliably used the rearview backup camera can cause injury and/or death. the vehicle has not been checked as of this time. Should you keep driving it?

This page can't tell you that. 2 of 106 reports involved a crash. Owners who file are the ones who had a bad experience, and nobody checks their reports. If the problem affects steering, braking, power or a fire risk, treat it as a safety fault and have it inspected before a long or high-speed drive.

File your own report with NHTSA. Complaint counts are how a problem gets an investigation.
