What this problem usually is
Brake reports cover a wide spread of symptoms. Grinding or squealing is common, and so is a pulsing pedal or a shake through the car when stopping. Others describe pads and rotors worn out long before they expected, a brake warning light, or a pedal that goes soft or sinks toward the floor. The most serious ones say the car didn't stop in time.

Certain 2015-2018 Model Year Edge and Lincoln MKX Vehicles and 2013-2018 Model Year Fusion and Lincoln MKZ Vehicles Front Brake Flexible Hose Replacement In some of the affected vehicles, brake fluid may leak from one or both front brake flexible hoses.

SOME 2008-2017 FORD/MERCURY/LINCOLN VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH SYNC MAY GENERATE A VHR THAT IDENTIFIES A CONCERN WITH THE BRAKES AND SUSPENSION CATEGORY INDICATING SERVICE IS REQUIRED DUE TO A BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING LAMP BEING ILLUMINATED.

The first one was fixed under a recall but it has happened again with no support from ford. this is dangerous and should be looked into.”

“Brake hose failure causing loss of braking ability. Confirmed by independent service center that brake hose ruptured and required repaired. No warning lamps or messages. Braking required holding pedal all the way to the floor. Occurred today, 04/02/2025.”

“My brake lights are not turning off. Upon inspection of the brake light switch attached to the pedal, I saw a plastic part (washer) that had broken in half.
