Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2013-2018 Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles. The front brake hoses may rupture and leak brake fluid.
Risk and remedy
Remedy: Dealers will replace the front brake hoses, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 27, 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 23S12.

“The shifting was not working when making the selected gear and it was driving in an unintended direction when it was selected reversed. The car was driving forward when the operation selects was in reversed. The car was accelerated by itself when I was driving the car and the dashboard did not gave me any warning light that something in the car need attention.”

“Brakes failed - low brake fluid light came on - upon startup - putting vehicle in gear multiple warning lights came on - brake pedal went all the way to the floor - reduced stopping capability - an accident waiting to happen Dealership replaced 3 of 4 brake hoses; two hoses had bubbles and the third had ruptured A day earlier brakes were spongy”
