“Was out of town when I went to shift out of Park, and I received a SHIFT SYSTEM FAULT - SERVICE REQUIRED MESSAGE. My car was stuck in reverse and could only shift into neutral. The shift cable bushing had dry rotted and snapped. This item was recalled on previous fusions up to the 2016 model year, yet the same part was used through the 2020 model year. ALL of these items need to be recalled. They are all defective.”

“Shift System Fault: transmission shifter cable bushing wore out, cap fell off, shifter cable got detached, so I cannot shift the car out of Park. I have a 2017 Ford Fusion and it was not included in the recall, even though this Shift System Fault problem is the same problem that the Ford Fusions included in the recall are having.”

“I had both a check engine light and wrench power train light come on. My vehicle was emitting white smoke from the exhaust and a sloshing water sound in my dash behind the steering wheel. My car has 96,000 miles on it and is serviced regularly. I had it at the dealership in Dec 2022 for an oil change and they didnât indicate any issues. By Jan 2023 my car needs a new engine.”
