What this problem usually is
Screen complaints read like a list of small betrayals. The display goes black or freezes, the backup camera shows nothing when you shift into reverse, CarPlay or Android Auto keeps dropping, or the radio changes volume on its own. The powertrain control module may be equipped with a voltage regulator chip in the circuit board that may fail, causing a stall or a no start condition.
When reverse gear has been selected, the rear camera view may not be fully visible within two seconds.
The backup camera may experience a loss of image display while backing up. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rearview Mirrors."
These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging.

“When shifting car in Reverse the image on the rearview mirrior for the backup camera was twice inverted. The next day while the car was in reverse the mirror display just consistantly flashed black and white with no real image.”

“The vehicles warning lights have all lit up and the engine has stalled. We have taken it to multiple mechanics and they believe it to be the voltage regulator chip that is faulty which is accusing the engine to stall. It has also lost the back up camera capabilities which is also another recall of the 2018 Dodge Journey.”
