Power Train:Automatic Transmission

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles manufactured July 31, 2015, to April 18, 2016, 2016 Dodge Journey vehicles manufactured August 17, 2015, to January 29, 2016, and 2016 RAM ProMaster vehicles manufactured August 15, 2016, to April 15, 2016. The transmission pump may seize causing a loss of hydraulic pressure.

“My Town and Country had its transmission fail. An independent transmission shop and the dealership service department both agreed that it was the hydraulic pump which failed. according to Chrysler the vehicle does not fall under the recall associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V461000, but the failure seems to be the exact same thing.”

Should you keep driving it?

This page can't tell you that. 1 of 42 reports involved a crash. Owners who file are the ones who had a bad experience, and nobody checks their reports. If the problem affects steering, braking, power or a fire risk, treat it as a safety fault and have it inspected before a long or high-speed drive.

File your own report with NHTSA. Complaint counts are how a problem gets an investigation.
