What this problem usually is
Screen complaints read like a list of small betrayals. The display goes black or freezes, the backup camera shows nothing when you shift into reverse, CarPlay or Android Auto keeps dropping, or the radio changes volume on its own. “Day 1 of ownership of brand new vehicle. At less than 100 miles on odometer, the center part of the instrument panel goes completely black and does not display pertinent driving information, potentially information necessary for safety purposes. “Center cluster screen on dash is not turning on with vehicle. It is as safety concern as none of my safety alerts are working. Lane assist, emergency braking, cruise, etc. I have reported to Kia America and have not heard back.”

“The LCD display in the instrument cluster that gives information about many ADAS features stays Off. The screen just remains blank on most starts. Restarting after opening and closing the doors helps some times to bring the display back. But since there is no feedback about many ADAS features because of no display, it is indeed a safety issue.”
