“This has happened three times in the last 4 months. There is no pattern, rhyme, or reason to understand why this happens. Today, while driving on the interstate at approximately 60mph, My 2019 Jeep Compass (80k miles) jerked violently and displayed the âEngine Coolant Temp Highâ warning message while the temperature gauges spiked. I coasted off to the shoulder. This could have caused an accident.”

“A message appears on the dashboard âHigh Coolant Temperatureâ and immediately sends the vehicle to shut off and after a couple of seconds the error disappears and the temperature gauge returns to normal. When it shuts down, the car will either completely shut off or jolt and start back up.”

“dashboard message stating âHigh Coolant Temperatureâ while driving on highway. I had to stop on the shoulder of the highway after seeing a warning that the vehicle would soon shut off. I was driving the car with my child and the situation was very tense. I had to park the car on the shoulder of highway and wait for it to settle down. This actually threatened the lives of me and my child.”
