Electrical System: Instrument Cluster/Panel
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Tucson, Tucson Hybrid, Tucson Plug-In Hybrid Electric (PHEV) vehicles. Due to a software error, the instrument panel display may fail. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, "Controls and Displays."
Risk: An instrument panel display that fails to show critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: The instrument panel display software will be updated over-the-air (OTA) or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 22, 2026. Owners may contact Hyundai's customer service at 855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 304. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on June 25, 2026.

Forward Collision Avoidance: Automatic Emergency Braking
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Santa Cruz, Tucson, Tucson Hybrid, and Tucson Plug-In Hybrid Electric (PHEV) vehicles. Software in the front cameras may cause the forward collision avoidance system to activate prematurely and unexpectedly apply the brakes.
Risk: Unexpected braking increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will update the front camera software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 17, 2026. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 302. “If someone is making a right turn in front of me and I am on the brakes already slowing down The emergency braking will engage and lock the brakes to stop it It does not seem to detect the fact the car is making a turn that will be complete before you are up to them. This has happened 4 times now and I have almost been rear ended. I can duplicate it pretty much whenever I want and capture it on my dash cam”

“The automatic braking has almost caused me to be rear-ended, and the enraged driver behind me Leaned on his horn and flipped me off. Today, it caused a rear-end collision behind me because of the unwarranted abrupt locking of the brakes. I drove to the dealership and had them turn off this safety feature. It's VERY dangerous!”

Due to a software error, the instrument panel display may fail. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, "Controls and Displays."
