“Engine starting banging loudly and misfiring. There was a loss of power and engine codes. Brought to the dealer and they said cylinder #4 was misfiring due to a stuck lifter, bent push rod and destoyed cam. Total cost of repair was $9200. Vehicle is less than 4 years old an has 75,000 miles on it.”

Filed Aug 15, 2025 · 75,000 miles

“Fuel Pump Module Failure at 27k miles, experienced total loss of power while driving. GM issued a recall for this part in other 2021 Tahoes, but said my vehicle is not included in the recall. Researching online this seems to be a large problem with this model year, yet they did not recall all vehicles. Clearly mine was effected.”

Filed Apr 2, 2025 · 27,000 miles

“While driving in traffic the car shut off, engine stopped. When the car stopped it went into park. Could not restart the car. Starter worked and engine started but ran very rough then stopped several times. I could not completely shut off the car in an attempt to basically reboot. Car had to be towed to the dealer.”

Should you keep driving it?

This page can't tell you that. 1 of 117 reports involved a crash. Owners who file are the ones who had a bad experience, and nobody checks their reports. If the problem affects steering, braking, power or a fire risk, treat it as a safety fault and have it inspected before a long or high-speed drive.
