Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2024 Tundra vehicles equipped with a V35A engine. Debris from the manufacturing process may contaminate the engine and cause a main bearing to fail, which can result in an engine stall and loss of drive power.
Risk and remedy
Remedy: Dealers will perform an inspection on the #1 main bearing using vehicle inspection software and drive data, and if necessary, replace the engine. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed July 23, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 25TB14 and 25TA14. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall numbers 24V381 and 25V767.

While i was driving to the dealership engine shut off at highway speeds causing me to swerve in an out of traffic to pull over safely complete engine loss power...i took it to toyota ON 8/12/26 they confirmed main bearing in cylinder 1 failed. Toyota states new motor to be installed.”

“My 2024 tundra with 55000 miles suddenly lost all power going down a major highway. The engine failed suddenly. Luckily I didnât wreck. I paid out of pocket to have it towed to dealership where it has sat untouched for 9 days. The engine is included in the recall that they have.”

“The engine lost power and shut down at highway speeds which put myself and a passenger at risk for a crash. There were no warning lights or other symptoms before the engine shut down. After pulling the vehicle over to the side of the road, I attempted to restart the engine. The engine failed to turn over and start. The truck towed into a local dealership and is waiting inspection.”

“While driving I noticed a slight knock, about 10 miles further down the road the dash said engine has stopped pull over. No check engine or other lights were illuminated before or after this. The truck had a terrible noise when I tried to restart it, but it would not turn back on”
