What this problem usually is
Two different complaints land here. The more common one is an engine that uses oil: owners add a quart between changes, get a low-oil warning, or are told by the dealer that the rate is normal. The other is the opposite, where the oil level climbs and the oil smells of gasoline. Both deserve a proper test, and both are easier to argue with records in hand.

“Just had the engine replaced for the oil consumption done in 2022. They did not replace the motor mounts at that point. But now they are saying those are leaking and my fuel pump has also gone out.”

“My Jeep has incredibly high oil consumption. I am putting a quart of oil in every two weeks even after an oil change. My car also stalls intermittently, it has even turned completely off on the freeway. The electrical in my car goes in and out and my display for my radio is completely blacked out.”

“I am pouring a QT of oil in this jeep every other week. THIS IS NOT NORMAL! I have had the oil consumption test done 3 times. Each time the dealer tells me that losing this much oil is within guidlines. THIS IS NOT NORMAL. THIS IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD WITH A VEHICLE. RECALL THIS!!! Ongoing for 2 years now.”
