Stalling on other Town & Country years
Report counts are for each model year on its own, so a newer car has had less time to collect them.
What this problem usually is
Stalling reports are some of the most alarming on the site. The engine quits while the car is moving, sometimes on a highway and sometimes at a stop. Many owners say it restarted right away and the dealer found no stored code, which is part of why these complaints pile up before anything gets fixed.
What got replaced
Few of these reports name the part that was replaced.
Recalls and investigations
One recall on the transmission and drivetrain covers the 2015 model year. A recall on the same system isn't always the same failure, so read the defect text.
The transmission pump may seize causing a loss of hydraulic pressure.

What owners wrote
“While driving the transmission lost power and car behaved like it was in neutral while in drive.”

“Car shakes and stalls when coming to a stop. No lights on the dash. Took it to a dealer and found it is the sensors in the transmission. These should not break on a van that has under 100,000 miles.”
Filed Feb 21, 2024 · 100,000 miles
“The engine died while traveling 80mph and power steering stopped. Engine died at a stop light in traffic. No lights display on dashboard and no codes display. Car runs fine after turning off then restarting. This is dangerous and appears common in town and countries. We could have died at 80mph.”

“Our van only has 83,000 miles and the transmission failed. While driving 45 miles an hour the car started to shake. While trying to find a safe place to pull over the car lost power. It was pulled into a parking spot and left for the tow company.”

Should you keep driving it?
This page can't tell you that. 1 of 46 reports involved a crash and 2 people were hurt. Owners who file are the ones who had a bad experience, and nobody checks their reports. If the problem affects steering, braking, power or a fire risk, treat it as a safety fault and have it inspected before a long or high-speed drive.
File your own report with NHTSA. Complaint counts are how a problem gets an investigation. How reports land on this sheet.
