What this problem usually is
These reports start with the check engine light. Many describe the engine running rough or shaking at idle, a P0300-series code, or a catalytic converter code. A worrying number say the light was flashing. Owners often list ignition coils or spark plugs already replaced, and the light coming back afterward.

“At 55,000 miles - 6 years and 6 months, the check engine light came on and car temp jumped to "off the chart high". The water pump had failed and head gasket had blown.”

“Check engine light went on and the carâs temperature gage started going up rapidly. Pulled to the side of the road and turned the car off. The problem was the electric water pump and Thermostat which I bought at Toyota parts, the car only has 29,090 miles on it.”

“Check engine light- P28AE âEngine Coolant Bypass Valve Bâ. Checkered Flag Toyota Virginia Beach, VA states that itâs been a huge issue at their service center and that they repair several cars, weekly, with this error. The rep told me that this should be a recall and canât sure why itâs not, due to the sheer volume of this issue”
