What owners wrote

“ABS module failure without cause. New modules no longer being produced. Lack of anti braking system is a huge safety concern. Vehicle was looked at by a mechanic. Brake light, stability control light, and ABS light all came on at the same time at the time of failure. Vehicle was in park and turned on at the time of failure.”

“ABS module reported to dealer in February, 2025..They said was safe to drive. Then April 2025 the module went out.-Part has been on backorder since March 2025. It was taken to Key Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Marianna in March 2025. Jeep would not steer properly, the brakes were not normal and all the warning lights on dash were on. I could not drive. .”

“My 2016 Jeep Wrangler is displaying warning lights (Brake, ABS, Traction Control) on the dashboard. I took it to my Jeep dealership where they diagnosed the issue as an inoperative ABS Module part number 68259556AD. They placed it on order but it was back ordered with no available delivery date. My Jeep is now not able to be driven.”

Filed Sep 16, 2025

“Jeep Wrangler Unlimited ABS, Brake, & Traction Control warning lights all came on at once while driving. Once jeep stopped vehicle went into limp mode limiting power and MPH to less than 30 MPH. Which is a huge safety problem when all the roads to and from out house are 45 MPH. ABS Module is bad per the dealer. Vehicle is VOR in the system, and undriveable. No estimate when a new part will arrive.”

Should you keep driving it?

This page can't tell you that. 1 of 39 reports involved a crash and 2 people were hurt. Owners who file are the ones who had a bad experience, and nobody checks their reports. If the problem affects steering, braking, power or a fire risk, treat it as a safety fault and have it inspected before a long or high-speed drive.

File your own report with NHTSA. Complaint counts are how a problem gets an investigation.
