What owners wrote
“The evaporator is leaking and apparently is a known issue from ford and they didn't report this. The evaporator core is leaking and it blows hot air for a good amount. It draws a lot of power form the system and drops the rpm below idling. Forcing me to rev a cold engine so that it does not stall out.”

“Canister purge valve malfunction stuck in an open position. If this occurs, an excessive vacuum in the fuel system could cause deformation of the vehicleâs plastic fuel tank. Indicator light check engine with fluctuating or inaccurate fuel levels. This could lead to a stall while driving and/or an inability to restart the vehicle, which can increase the risk of a crash.”

Should you keep driving it?
This page can't tell you that. 1 of 28 reports involved a crash and 2 people were hurt. Owners who file are the ones who had a bad experience, and nobody checks their reports. If the problem affects steering, braking, power or a fire risk, treat it as a safety fault and have it inspected before a long or high-speed drive.
