What owners wrote

“After a month of purchase this car from a buy here pay here lot they offer no help my transmission slipping going cost about $4000 to get repaired”

Filed Apr 8, 2026

“The vehicle jerks and stutters while accelerating. In some cases it can lose power completely, which is extremely dangerous when driving at any speed, but particularly on the highway. I’ve also researched this issue online and it is a well known transmission defect with Nissan CVT transmissions and many people have experienced the same issue. I’d be shocked if nobody has been injured or killed.”

Should you keep driving it?

This page can't tell you that. 0 of 64 reports involved a crash. Owners who file are the ones who had a bad experience, and nobody checks their reports. If the problem affects steering, braking, power or a fire risk, treat it as a safety fault and have it inspected before a long or high-speed drive.

File your own report with NHTSA. Complaint counts are how a problem gets an investigation.
