What this problem usually is
These reports start with the check engine light. Many describe the engine running rough or shaking at idle, a P0300-series code, or a catalytic converter code. A worrying number say the light was flashing. Owners often list ignition coils or spark plugs already replaced, and the light coming back afterward.

The connecting rod and/or crankshaft engine components may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine damage and engine failure.
The fuel pump power control module may cause the fuel pump to fail or operate intermittently, which can interrupt fuel flow to the engine, and cause an unexpected engine stall.
The fuel tank assemblies may be missing adhesive between two layers of the fuel tank shell which may result in a fuel leak.

This Preliminary information communicates a vehicle may come to the dealer with a complaint of no start, stalling, rough idle, no acceleration, loss of power, erratic shifting, fuel gauge inoperative, MIL illuminated with various codes stored.

“While operating my 2021 GMC Yukon AT4, my vehicle suddenly developed a popping noise, the check engine light began flashing, and the traction control warning illuminated. The vehicle lost power and had reduced acceleration, forcing me to pull off the road because it was unsafe to continue driving. This created a serious safety risk and appears consistent with reported GM lifter or engine defects.”

“I got 3 messages on the dash going off simultaneously 1. Service Traction Control System 2. Forward Collision System unavailable 3. Service ESC I could feel the truck bogging and shaking a little at this point Then soon after the check engine light was flashing and it was noticeably misfiring and rough idling. I pulled some codes at Oreillys and got back 1. P0300 misfire 2. P050D cold start rough idle”

“My GMC Yukon with 6.2 is using 1 quart of oil every 1000 miles. An oil consumption test was performed and documented with the dealer. In addition there is now a very rough idle while at a stop. The date on the engine build is just months ahead of the current recall.”

“Engine started missing out. After taken to dealer, cylinders 5 and 6 were filled with oil. New engine is needed, and is on nationwide back order as thousands of these are effected.”
