Takata airbag recall on other Sierra 1500 years
No other Sierra 1500 model year has enough reports of Takata airbag recall for a sheet of its own. See every Sierra 1500 year.
What this problem usually is
This is the narrower sheet inside airbag problems for complaints about inflator recalls, Takata's above all. Many owners here aren't describing a failure they've seen. They're describing a recall notice, a dealer who doesn't have the part, and the question of whether the car is safe to drive in the meantime.
What got replaced
Few of these reports name the part that was replaced.
Recalls and investigations
4 recalls on the airbags cover the 2015 model year. A recall on the same system isn't always the same failure, so read the defect text.
The roof-rail air bag (RRAB) inflator end cap may detach from the inflator, or the inflator sidewall may rupture.

What owners wrote
“I received recall notice N202324251. I took my vehicle to Clay Cooley Chevrolet for state inspection and to address the recall. According to the work invoice (#568190) the recall work was performed. However, I keep receiving recall notices and when I look this up on the NHTSA website the status is "Recall INCOMPLETE".”

“Curtain air bags deployed after loosing traction a bit in the highway also causing seat belts to get locked. Acceleration pedal will get stuck at times. Needed to push brake pedal half ways or more for brakes to kick in. GM brake recall seems to have fixed that. A/C condenser and compressor continue to fail.”

Should you keep driving it?
This page can't tell you that. 1 of 27 reports involved a crash and 1 people were hurt. Owners who file are the ones who had a bad experience, and nobody checks their reports. If the problem affects steering, braking, power or a fire risk, treat it as a safety fault and have it inspected before a long or high-speed drive.
File your own report with NHTSA. Complaint counts are how a problem gets an investigation. How reports land on this sheet.
