What this problem usually is
Stalling reports are some of the most alarming on the site. The engine quits while the car is moving, sometimes on a highway and sometimes at a stop. These vehicles may have defective relays that can result in an engine stall, reduced engine power or the engine overheating.
The affected vehicles are equipped with a constant velocity transmission (CVT) that, in certain driving conditions, may cause a delay in the vehicle accelerating.
During assembly, a clamp for a CVT hose may not have been properly secured, allowing the hose to detach and leak transmission fluid.

“I was driving down the road at 60 miles an hour. My car completely shut down restarted itself while I was in Drive going 60 miles an hour. It put me back in first gear shot my RPMs through the roof. I put it in park once I come to a stop, sit there for a minute shut it down started back up. Finished my drive out after that happened. My stereo has kicked in and out about every 20 minutes while going down the road.”

“Check engine illumination: code is showing that the Transmission Control Module has an error. When stopped the cars acceleration lags and causes stalls and delayed acceleration.”

“While driving the vehicle surges forwards like it is having difficult shifting gears or accelerating . It happens while driving 40 miles . Al while at a stand still in traffic it shakes and vibrates like it wants to stall then pulls forward . The the transmission light flashes on then goes away”
